The Manor House in Oskowo

monuments

The beginnings of the village of Oskowo date back to the 14th century, as confirmed by the oldest mention of the locality originating from a border act of Margrave Waldemar from 1313, delineating the border between the Teutonic Order state and the Pomeranian state. At that time, the village was situated on the Pomeranian side. The first documented information about the owners of Oskowo dates back to 1621 when the village was a fiefdom of the Lietzensches family. In 1710, the estate passed into the hands of the von Münchows family, and by 1766, it belonged to the Somnitz family. With the consent of King Frederick William in 1800, the village became the property of the Lübbecke family, who leased it until 1862. In 1884, Ferdinand Lange was the owner of Oskowo, and between 1892 and 1893, the estate belonged to Lieutenant Conrade Hasse. In 1906, Oskowo was taken over by the Prussian state treasury, and in 1914, it was leased to Gustaw Sernau.

The single-story manor with a façade, built in the second half of the 19th century, is a compact building in the shape of an elongated rectangle, single-storey, set on a low pedestal, with a west-facing front, surrounded by a park.
