The Manor House in Lisewo - A History of Love and Change
The manor house in Lisewo is a place with a rich and colorful history dating back to the 15th century when the village belonged to the noble Lisewski family. In the second half of the 16th century, the estate was divided between two families - the Dzięcielscy and the Jackowscy. The Dzięcielscy, known for their extravagant lifestyle, quickly sold their part, while the Jackowski family managed the estate until the end of the 18th century. It was during their time that the manor house and park complex was created, becoming a characteristic feature of Lisewo.
Love and emotions have often influenced the fate of the manor. One of the most romantic events was the story of a Jackowski who, having fallen in love with a local girl, sold the entire estate and left with her deep into the country. A similar fate befell later owners - love often forced them to make bold decisions that changed the course of the estate's history.
In the 18th century, the estate passed into the hands of the burgher Dergumir Bartnisch from Lębork, who led a prosperous life away from conflicts. Then the manor was taken over by Baron Johann Georg Bernhard von Wendenberg and his family, and after them by Johann Zielcke in 1853. It was Zielcke who shaped the current appearance of the manor and park. He introduced order, laid out a communication route, a rectangular park with a semicircular driveway, and allocated land for an orchard and vegetable garden.
Unfortunately, in 1880, the estate fell into the hands of the Boden Credit Bank, which began a more difficult period in its history. The manor changed owners many times until in the 1920s it was acquired by Kranthig, who lived there until 1945 when he died during the war.
Today's manor house in Lisewo, although somewhat forgotten, still reminds of its rich history. The preserved elements of the park layout and the manor's architecture testify to its former splendor, and the fates of its inhabitants remain an inspiring story of love, courage, and transience.
