The construction of the church is mentioned in 1592 and 1653, likely in the context of significant construction work or complete reconstruction after the war damage of the 16th and 17th centuries. The current form of the parish church, dedicated to Our Lady of Częstochowa, probably dates from 1727. In 2011, a major renovation was carried out, the previous one of this scale having taken place in 1930. The church suffered significant damage during the war and shortly thereafter. During the Reformation, it was taken over by Protestants and functioned as an Evangelical church until 1945.
