The Church of Saint Joseph with Renaissance and Baroque decoration
The church in Charbrowo is a modest building, characterized by solid walls with buttresses and a tower that reaches only half the height of the nave. Built in 1669 on the site of an earlier structure, probably from the 14th century, it does not stand out among typical churches. The rich Renaissance-Baroque decoration attests to the era in which it was erected. Until 1870, masses were celebrated in the local language in this church, located in the Kashubian region. Until recently, there was a centuries-old oak tree growing near the church, which until 1780 served as a pillory for women who were mothers of illegitimate children, exhibited for public humiliation for three Sundays. Until the mid-19th century, a clock from the 17th century was still functioning on the church tower.
