Port Captain's Building in Gdynia
monuments
In connection with the commencement of the port operation in Gdynia, the first Port Captaincy building was erected in the years 1923-1924. It was a small, wooden structure with a turret. In 1927, it was replaced by a modern and functional building, which was destroyed by the Germans at the end of World War II. After the war, until 1963, the Port Captaincy was housed in the Maritime Office building in Gdynia; later, it was relocated to the currently existing building.
