Old Brewery in Lebork

monuments

The brewery building, erected in 1898 and styled after medieval defensive architecture, belonged to the Magdaliński family, well-known industrialists from Lębork. For almost a hundred years (1857-1945), they operated the brewery under the name "Klosterbrauerei" ("Monastery Brewery"), producing light, dark, and pilsner beer called "Klasztorne," as well as an extra-strong brew called "Klasztorny Kozioł" ("Monastery Goat"). An impressive fresco depicting the King of Hops and Brewing, Gambrinus, adorns the front of the building, reminding of its original purpose.
