Museum of Naval
Museum of Naval Maritime Museum is the oldest and the only organization solely dedicated to the history of the Polish army in the sea. For the first time the museum was opened on the Feast of the Navy June 28, 1953 year. The seat was adopted prewar villa with a beach area. After several years of poor technical condition of the building, which threatened the visitors meant that in 1969 it was decided to close the building and move to a permanent exhibition of cinema Navy Club. The new exhibition is open to the public 9 May 1970 year. Naval Museum courtyard was transformed into exhibitions Marine Weapons and armaments, which opened on June 26, 1975. Exposure existed unchanged until the end of the 90's. Then the partial remodeling was due to the influx of exhibits and the start of construction of a new headquarters for the Naval Museum. November 28, 1998 was held the ceremony of laying the foundation act for the construction of the Naval Museum and the Museum of the City of Gdynia. November 28, 2012, there was a grand opening of the new museum. On an area of over 3,000 square meters contains exhibits depicting the history and tradition of the Polish Navy. The building has four floors of fully air-conditioned exhibition hall equipped with modern audiovisual and library and separate the cafe.
