The monument dates back to before the First World War and is dedicated to Emperor Wilhelm I Hohenzollern. According to a tourist map from 1905, near the location of the stone, there was a hill called Wilhelm's Hill, and on the way to the forester's lodge lay the stone of Emperor Wilhelm. Most likely, the monument was erected on March 22, 1897, on the centenary of the ruler's birth. A few days later, a newspaper from Gdańsk described an event taking place in Zagórze, which was a gathering of foresters from neighboring forest districts. It was thus an excellent opportunity to commemorate Wilhelm and the gathering itself. The plaque on the monument was probably destroyed around 1950, and around 1980, the heavy chains that connected the individual granite pillars surrounding the boulder disappeared.
