Manor House in Żelazkowo

monuments

The manor of the von Selchow family was built in 1889 on the lands previously belonging to the knightly estate of Redkowice. These lands were granted in fief to Jan de Pirch by the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, Dietrich von Altenburg. Until the end of the 17th century, the property belonged to the von Pirch family. The building, modest and single-storey with a hipped roof, is distinguished only by its unusual façade. Subsequently, the estate passed into the hands of the von Natzmer family, and in 1800 it was repurchased by the von Selchow family. In 1894, Żelazkowo was sold to the Berlin merchant Meyerhem, who divided 150 hectares of land among nine farmers. According to the description of Pomeranian farms from 1939, the last owners of the estate were Wolff's heirs.
