Name of the village comes from the stocky - dry eminence rising above the marshes. One of the oldest information from Krępca 1338 years. In the fifteenth century, in the village there was a property belonging to the Hospital of St. Gdansk. Elizabeth and Bridgettine order. Since the second half of the sixteenth century village residents lived outside the native Dutch settlers, mostly Mennonites, brought here for the rehabilitation of land after violent floods. After the formation of the Free City of Danzig, the village both in summer and winter was famous as a place of rest for Sunday Gdansk residents and tourists. After the river regularly sailed a small boat trip, sailed ferry, you can hire rowing boats, while winter visitors went ice skating on the river.
In the village you can see mnemonic arcaded houses and farms. In Krępiec The river Motława combined, with the largest of its tributaries, the Old Radunia, and lower Black River Lach. For this reason, this place is popular among anglers. Through the village run three trails: Mennonite Road, Trail Motława and Trail Canoe.
