Church of Our Lady Queen of Poland
The Church of the Virgin Mary rises on the northern outskirts of the city center. It is a former Protestant church, built around 1870 in the neo-Gothic style. It has a pentagonal sanctuary adjoining the central nave, facing east. From the west, a wide tower dominates with a square plan, featuring a rosette and a spiral helm, containing a portal with an embedded bust of Christ. The massive body of the church, though impressive, is not divided into aisles, which promotes perfect harmony between the structure and architectural details. The interior, although somewhat narrowed by side galleries, appears spacious and empty, as some elements of the neo-Gothic decoration "disappear" within it. Special attention is deserved by the wall paintings dated to 1958.
