Church in Łebcz
Łebcz is one of the oldest settlements in the Puck Land, and the first historical mention of it dates back to May 7, 1280. On November 16, 1340, the master of the Teutonic Order, Winrych von Kniprode, who served as the commander of Gdańsk, granted Chełmno rights to the village and allowed the construction of a church. In the same year, a stone-wooden temple with a tiled roof was built, becoming a subsidiary church to the temple in Swarzewo in 1470. However, in the second half of the 14th century, this structure fell into significant neglect, and in 1742, the church collapsed due to a storm. In 1766, building materials were transported to erect a new church, but for unknown reasons, it was never realized. Only on March 19, 1928, at the initiative of Father Wojciech Pronobis from the parish in Swarzewo, the construction of a new temple began. It was designed by an architect named Dolny. The cornerstone was consecrated on April 23, 1928. The church, designed in the Neo-Baroque style, is characterized by a tower adorned with a bell-shaped spire with a lantern. The interior is decorated with a stylish design from the construction period.
