Black Sea Tower in Stargard

Built in the Gothic style, this tower is an integral part of the city fortifications, originating in the second half of the 14th century. Reaching an impressive height of 34 meters, it is recognized as a significant monument of history. Its construction is based on a rectangular plan, set on a sturdy stone pedestal. The tower features three viewing terraces, with the two upper terraces crowned with battlements. Noticeable on the outer facade are small windows forming a characteristic checkerboard pattern. The peak of the tower is adorned with a brick octagonal pyramid. In the base of this monumental structure, there were originally prison dungeons.
