monuments

The house was built in 1802 by the builder Peter Loewen for Cornelius Froese (PETER LOEWEN/ MASTER BUILDER/ CORNELIUS FROESE BUILDING OWNER • YEAR 1802). The peaks of the main part of the building are clad, crowned with original gables featuring a crest and the year 1802. A deep, front-facing loggia is supported by 8 columns with Ionic capitals. Originally, the house stood within a large farmstead, which included a barn, pigsty, granary, and a large barn enclosing the whole, as well as a bakery building located in close proximity to the house.
